OAKLAND — A woman killed last week in West Oakland when the car she was driving was hit by a stolen vehicle that police said was fleeing a hit-and-run collision was identified by the coroner’s office Tuesday.The woman killed was Samrawit Abbadura, 23, of Oakland, authorities said.The 34-year-old driver of the allegedly stolen vehicle was booked into Santa Rita Jail on Monday night after being released from a hospital where he was treated for injuries suffered in the Dec. 13 collision. (KRON) -- The number of confirmed fatalities that occurred in a deadly crash involving a vehicle that went airborne on the southbound 680 near Pleasanton Monday has risen from two to three, the California Highway Patrol said Tuesday. The crash occurred Monday at 2:36 p.m. near the Sunol Boulevard and Castlewood Drive exits.The vehicle, a Honda Pilot, was traveling south in the number 1 lane at 65 mph when it suffered a blowout, the driver told the CHP. He said he reacted by steering to the left, as he initially feared going down the embankment on the west shoulder.By veering to the left, he rode his left side tires partially up the jersey wall bordering the east side lanes, the CHP said. (KRON) – An autopsy cites the death of a two-month-old infant that died in April as a homicide, the San Jose Police Department announced Tuesday. Patrol officers and homicide unit detectives responded to a local hospital to investigate the death of a two-month-old infant at approximately 6:49 p.m. on April 4.
