Pipe Bomb Destroyed at Fort Plain residence FORT PLAIN, N.Y (NEWS10)- Montgomery County Sheriff's Office confirming the details of an incident that had shut down Upper Main Street for hours Thursday afternoon. The Fort Plain police department had received a call around 2 p.m. about a device outside of a residence. The Sheriff's Office quickly arrived and began assisting with blocking off the street and evacuating neighboring residences.Sheriff Jeffery Smith confirmed the object to have been a pipe bomb, and a nearby school was notified out of an abundance of caution. The New York State Police Bomb Squad arrived to the scene and ultimately destroyed the device. Law enforcement confirmed they have a suspect that has been interviewed and charged, and there is no immediate danger to the public.

Recently, though, they have seen a change from people asking for money to confrontations in their diner."My family has been in Albany for over 30 years and this is the worst that I have seen it. When it becomes aggressive and people start feeling uncomfortable to come to work, it's not okay," explained Anthony Mitsios. First Friday returns to Albany To come up with solutions, the Mitsios family invited fellow business owners and Albany officials to the diner. The Albany police department continues to respond to threats in the area, but are not legally able to offer the services considered 'quality of life'. Police say they cannot issue an arrest due to homelessness or passive panhandling. Man arrested, escaped West Hollywood apartment standoff after neighbor was shot through wall: LASD A man who was wanted for allegedly shooting his neighbor through a West Hollywood apartment wall in April was found and arrested on Tuesday.The person of interest was identified as Joshua Findley, 31, by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.On April 7, Findley was wanted in connection to a shooting at The Dylan Apartments on the 7100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.When deputies arrived, they found a woman in her 50s with two gunshot wounds — one to her neck and one to her leg inside her apartment. The woman was believed to be alone in her kitchen when the bullets went through the wall and struck her, officials said.
