Three stranded hikers rescued in Essex County

NORTH ELBA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Three hikers who were left stuck behind high water at Indian Falls in Essex County were rescued on Saturday. The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) says eight forest rangers responded to rescue the group. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! According to the DEC, Forest Rangers received a call around 4 p.m. that three hikers from Pennsylvania were stranded behind high water at Indian Falls. The DEC says the hikers were descending Street Mountain when they came across the water. Rangers used an inflatable boat to pull the hikers to safety. ST. LOUIS - A new playground floor has students at a south St. Louis school jumping for joy. It's at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School.A grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation helped pay for the new playground surfacing. It's also being used as a lesson in recycling for the kids. The playground was made with 25,000 pounds of used recycled tires.
