Nemechek dominates Xfinity Series race at Martinsville MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) — John Hunter Nemechek held off Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Sammy Smith on Saturday night at Martinsville Speedway to secure his second win of the season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.Nemechek dominated the race, leading 198 of the 250 laps at the paperclip-shaped half-mile racetrack.Smith finished second, followed by Cole Custer, Josh Berry and Brandon Jones.The only real drama came when Nemechek set the back of the car on fire during a lengthy burnout after crossing the finish line, forcing workers to use fire extinguishers. (KDVR) -- A higher-than-average snowpack has been good to ski areas around the state.The latest round of snowfall was a welcome sight for the Eldora Ski Mountain Resort, which will close for the season on Sunday."Snow coverage was decent all year long, we never got a big, whopping storm but we had a great, consistent coverage, two to three inches every couple of days," Sam Bass, at Eldora, said.That was enough snowfall to mark the end of a good year at the ski resort."It was better than last year," Bass said. (KDVR) -- Ski patrollers and paramedics at Loveland Ski Area voted to unionize with CWA 7781, the United Professional Ski Patrols of America, an organization supporting hundreds of ski patrollers.    This marks the first time in the 85 year-history of Loveland Ski Area that patrollers have formed a union. Evacuation orders issued after plant fire reignites in Brunswick, Georgia (CNN) — An evacuation order is in place for those within a half-mile radius of a plant fire that reignited Saturday afternoon in Brunswick, Georgia, according to the Glynn County Board of Commissioners and the city’s mayor.The fire at the Pinova plant, which delivers specialty rosin and polyterpene resins, initially broke out Saturday morning, with the board saying on Facebook nearly three hours later that it had been contained and there was no immediate concern for public safety.Later Saturday, the board said in another Facebook post that the fire had reignited and issued a shelter-in-place order for a one-mile radius around the plant.In a press conference Saturday night, Brunswick Mayor Cosby Johnson said the shelter-in-place order has been extended to the entire city limits because of changing winds.
