Greg Abbott arrived Thursday morning in Israel, where his office shared he went to "reaffirm Texas’ enduring and unwavering support of the State of Israel" during its ongoing war with Hamas. The governor's office released a photo showing Abbott along with Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt and Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister. The two Republican leaders made the trip together, which they said was done in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel and the Consulate General of Israel to the Southwest. Austin-Travis County EMS pronounced the adult patient dead on the scene. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Prosecutors will call more witnesses Thursday in the murder trial for Kaitlin Armstrong, who's accused of shooting and killing pro cyclist Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson in May 2022.Both sides delivered opening statements Wednesday morning. The state outlined a timeline of evidence gathered from phone and GPS records of Armstrong and Wilson's actions leading up to the shooting. Prosecutors also discussed the relationship between Armstrong, Wilson and Armstrong's then-boyfriend Colin Strickland. Nearly one in four new vehicles registered in Colorado this year is either battery-electric, hybrid-electric, or hybrid, according to data released by the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association.Electric battery-powered vehicles accounted for 11.2% of all vehicle registrations in Colorado through Sept. 30 this year, up from 7.8% of the total in the same period of 2022. Hybrid vehicles accounted for a 9.2% market share, up from 7.3%. Plug-in hybrid vehicles remain a sliver of the market at 3.3%, up from 2.3%.Combined that works out to nearly 36,500 vehicles or 23.7% of all registrations in the first nine months of the year. The momentum toward electric accelerated in the past three months. In the third quarter, electric vehicles accounted for 13% of all vehicle registrations in Colorado, up from 10.2% in the second, according to the Colorado Auto Outlook.The Polis administration wants the state to have one million electric vehicles on the road by 2030. A transient fatally assaulted an elderly man in Garden Grove Wednesday night, according to police.Garden Grove resident Chuong Pham, 87, died after he was attacked by Mario Brancato, a 26-year-old homeless person, in the 9900 block of Central Avenue at about 7:30 p.m., the Garden Grove Police Department said in a news release.The incident was initially reported to officers as a burglary, but when police arrived, they found Brancato "being restrained on the ground by numerous residents who live in the area," the release said.Those residents took officers to Pham, who was unresponsive and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital."At this time, there is no known connection between the suspect and the victim," the release said.Brancato was booked into Orange County Jail.Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Rogers at 714-741-5413 or Garden Grove Police Department Investigations at 714-741-5800.Latest news
