Thieves call rideshare after ransacking Macy's store

Four suspects who allegedly ransacked a Macy’s store in Brea were arrested after calling a rideshare driver to pick them up during a wild pursuit Tuesday.The suspects were identified as:-Louie Velasco, from South Gate-Jocelyn Mendoza, from Simi Valley-Sherry Rogers, from Los Angeles-Marlon Deleon, from Los AngelesAt around 12 p.m., the thieves were seen grabbing merchandise from the Macy's department store at the Brea Mall. One suspect had prompted suspicion from police earlier in the day and backup was called, unbeknownst to the thieves.As the suspects exited the store to a getaway vehicle, patrol cars had already been waiting outside. The suspects sped away from the parking lot, leading officers on a high-speed pursuit.Police said they drove through the streets recklessly and “our officers were not able to keep up.”They eventually stopped near Laurel Elementary School which prompted a lockdown. (KRON) -- Southbound Interstate 280 was blocked on Tuesday due to a shooting in San Bruno, according to a 511 alert. All lanes have since reopened. California Highway Patrol said it received a call at 5:38 p.m. regarding the incident. The shooting happened on San Bruno Avenue, off of I-280. Shooting at Skyline High in Oakland results in 2 arrests The victim pulled off to the side of the road on I-280 and Trousdale Drive. He had two gunshot wounds, and was conscious, breathing and talking, per CHP. He was taken to Stanford Hospital. CHP shut down all lanes of southbound I-280 at 6:12 p.m., and by 6:37 p.m. most of them had reopened. Drivers are told to expect delays on the highway.The San Bruno Police Department is investigating the shooting. It is unknown whether the victim and attacker knew each other. WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (KDVR) — A man and his passenger avoided serious injury Tuesday after police say a large piece of a brake drum came through their windshield, bending the steering wheel. EDGEWATER, Colo. (KDVR) — Home security cameras captured the end of a bizarre crime spree in Edgewater, where police say a naked man forced his way into two homes and physically fought with the people who live there.Edgewater Police were called to the 2200 block of Gray Street around 4:20 p.m. on Monday. After an hours long standoff, a suspect who barricaded himself at a South Florida home was taken into custody. Broward Sheriff’s Office SWAT arrived at the home, located at 1410 NW 33rd Way, Tuesday evening. 7News camera captured several fire rescue trucks at the scene, as well as officers armed with long guns. A tank with a battering ram with also at the scene. According to BSO, VIPER detectives were attempting to serve a warrant at the home when the subject barricaded himself inside and refused to come out. Neighbors in the area were told to remain in there homes as deputies continue to work the incident. The suspect’s identity and any charges he might face have not been disclosed. A piece of metal went through the windshield of a car traveling in Maine Tuesday, coming inches away from a New Hampshire woman’s face, officials said.Maine State Police said they responded to the Main Turnpike in Gray after they said a car kicked up a piece of metal road debris into the air.
