Just in time for the Fourth of July holiday, Jefferson County officials on Monday lifted restrictions that previously limited recreational water activities on Clear Creek due to safety concerns.Activities previously prohibited by order, including all single-chambered, air-inflated devices such as belly boats, inner tubes and single-chambered rafts, as well as “body-surfers” and swimming, are now welcome back on the waterway.According to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, water flow has decreased from the creek’s peak, but all users are encouraged to be cautious when recreating on the waterway. The restriction order, issued on June 1, extended from Jefferson County’s western border at Colorado 119 through the limits of Golden to Vanover Park. The order limited recreational water activities due to high and fast water flows.Clear Creek’s water temperature, blasted and undercut rocks, obstructions and other factors still present many risks ...Spring Creek fire containment rises but worsening weather conditions could spell trouble
