A string of violence across Miami-Dade and Broward has communities on edge as another shooting that occurred in Hallandale Beach left one person injured and another dead.Several detectives and police officers were at the scene at the Beachwalk Hotel, a luxury hotel and resort located at 2602 E. A dramatic scene unfolded in Fort Lauderdale after a carjacking led to a SWAT situation on Monday morning.According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, officers responded to a carjacking that occurred in the 1200 block of Northeast 11th Avenue. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that took the life of 18-year-old Kyandre K. Johnbaptiste.On Saturday, 911 dispatchers received a report of a shooting near the 4100 block of Southwest 30th Street in West Park at around 7 p.m. BSO deputies quickly responded to the scene and found Johnbaptiste collapsed on the roadway. He was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, where he was pronounced dead.BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene detectives were immediately called to the scene to process evidence and interview witnesses. Preliminary investigations revealed that Johnbaptiste was riding an electric scooter when he was shot.Authorities are now urging anyone with information to come forward and help with the investigation.
